The Don Vica gourmet foods tradition
In the 1990s partners Veronica Morrissey and Mark Westlake saw the lack of quality ready-made gourmet food in Australia and took on the challenge to bring a range to the local market. They started experimenting, and developed a number of premium hand stuffed and marinated olives and antipasto products.
Select gourmet food outlets introduced the products to their customers and Don Vica soon established itself as a key producer of gourmet foods, made to suit the cosmopolitan tastes and lifestyles of Australian families.
In 2003 Veronica and Mark built a factory in Fremantle, to accommodate 25 full and part time staff. Strict quality control procedures were enforced to maintain the high quality of the product. Don Vica Gourmet’s reputation continued to grow, with products sold in gourmet food outlets, along with delicatessens and supermarkets across Australia.
In 2010 A View to Food acquired the Don Vica Gourmet brand. The business remains privately owned and operated, and committed to the Don Vica Gourmet tradition of quality gourmet ready to eat food.
